8 hours later

yesyesyesyes! It finally worked. New site is working..kinda..none of the links work, but really is that such a problem? I finally got blogger to upload to my url! yay! I feel like such a genius, except that it took me all of 8 hours to achieve. No matter, I have a beautiful, brand spanking new site. Its mine, all mine. I need a drink.

Ouch that hurts

Its official, I hate HTML. Why oh why does it have to be such a bitch to edit? Dammit, I've been trying to fix this silly blog all day and at the end of it what am I left with? Something that looks pretty much exactly the same as whence I began this journey. Hmm will have to see if I can move all this stuff to my new url...Its all a learning process isn't it? Am I supposed to be doing something constructive today? Oh yeah thats right, my job.
I have the touch

"It's a new day" I thought on this foggy, freezing Canberra morning. Everything will go well for me today. As opposed to the monumentally bad day I had yesterday. And it was with this positive attitude that I rather excitedly decided to post my first blog of the day, writing a masterpiece page long whinge about the previous day. Of course, as I hit "Post&Publish" a great big "error 404" something or rather blazes across my browser, sending me a nice virtual raspberry from the lovely land of Internet. I think I'll go to my corner now and stew for a while, chew my fingers and mutter to myself till I can rouse some more courage to continue with this folly.

Photos?

This is going to be my second attempt at being clever today. I will try, for your benefit, to make a link to a fantastic snap of me and a whale at the Natural History Musem in London.

OMG it worked! But I am proud to say that I managed to break the blog editing tool with my attempt. Yah! There were weird tags all over the place for a while there....

I recently came back from a 3 month stint in europe, doing all the usual dodgy Aussie backpacker thing - hostels, alcohol, life threatening train rides...etc. Had a blast really. Started in London and made my way through to France, Holland (fell in love), Germany (nearly killed on night train), Italy (got addicted to coffee despite never having drunk more than a cup a month previously), Spain (stayed in a cave in Ibiza - yes thats right, a cave) and back to London...And now I'm back in corporate hell and itching to get back to the olde worlde. Stay tuned...
I am so smart

Yay! I fix I fix! Always knew I was an IT genius! Problems with the stylesheet it seems. Right, so now this thing is really out in the big bad world, time for me to think of something witty to write in here. My first attempt at a post (quite decent I thought) has been swallowed up by goodness knows what somewhere between my hitting the publish button to actually going live, so a bit bummed.

I will be uploading some photos and what not soon, just to make it a bit more interesting. I know I get excited whenever I see pic links on a blog, so I suppose I should return the favour. But be warned, I am a serious digi cam junkie. There may be random photos of quite uninteresting subjects thrown into my undoubtedly masterly snaps. And now for a coffee break. It's all too much.
Hmm, first attempt and already its a pain in the ass it seams. Javascript errors so early in the piece, not very encouraging. Well at least this means that no one can actually read the blog, perhaps a blessing in disguise? By the way, I do not take any responsibility for any grammatical errors made on my part, at times I just simply can't spell.
